The latest programmes of walks in the Tamar Valley, aimed at those who are looking to improve their health and meet new people, are available now to pick up from local outlets or to view online.

Three different weekly walks take place in the Tamar Valley area every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Walk and Talk: Saltash meets every Monday morning. The autumn/winter programme includes walks around China Fleet, Churchtown Farm and Antony Passage, as well as Saltram House, Seaton Valley and Wacker Quay.

There are plenty of new walks on Wednesday mornings, with the Walk and Talk: Tamar Valley group. Choose from Calstock to Cotehele Weir, Luckett and Horsebridge, St Dominica Heritage Trail or Bere Ferrers and Weir Quay.

Walking for Health, every Thursday morning, offers a series of easier walks varying from 30- to 90-minute strolls.

On each walk there will be two fully trained walk leaders, giving support and encouragement if you’re just starting out, or getting back into shape after an illness or operation. Most walks begin at the Tamar Valley Centre, Drakewalls, near Gunnislake.

New this year are the Norris Green/Honicombe circular, Calstock/Higher Kelly Lane circular, Harrowbarrow Coombe and Prince of Wales Mine circular, and a beautiful walk from Bere Ferrers to Thorn Point and back.
