A mother and her nine-year-old son will be setting out today to walk 141 miles along the North Cornwall coast to raise money for the mental health charity MIND.
Tarryn said: ‘Shaun’s sudden death was a huge shock, not only to us and the family, but to everyone who knew him. It is because of this that I want to raise awareness about mental issues and fundraise for MIND at the same time.
‘In the past, mental health was a subject that wasn’t talked about much but I am pleased that this is now changing. The more things are done to raise awareness the more people who suffer can be helped.’
Tarryn and Scott will be setting out from Sandymouth Bay, Bude, and plan to walk to journey’s end at Land’s End over the following 10 days, in time for Scott to be back at school at the beginning of the new term at St Martin’s in Liskeard.
