A MILESTONE has been reached by Cornwall Council staff who have now delivered more than one million items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to around 350 care providers.

The equipment such as gloves and masks will help protect key workers and vulnerable people, and has been eagerly welcomed by managers and employees across the county, who have often struggled to find adequate and affordable supplies.

Liskeard Cornwall Councillor and cabinet member for Children and Wellbeing Sally Hawken said that the levels of was ’thanks to the tireless work by Cornwall Council staff’.

Firefighters have been assisting with the delivery of boxes of PPE around Cornwall.

Care providers in the county have expressed their gratitude for the deliveries of equipment.

Smiley Happy People childcare centre in Launceston said: ’Thank you for our PPE! Was such a lovely surprise when things are a bit tough to source.

Meanwhile operations director for Autism Cornwall Sarah Miller said: ’Thank you to all the team, this has been appreciated in our homes in Cornwall.’
