People in and around Liskeard can play a part in creating a new five-year health and social care plan for Cornwall that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Cornwall’s residents and provide seamless services.

Everyone is welcome to attend a community consultation event on March 17 at the Eliot House Hotel in Liskeard, which includes a drop-in session from noon until 6pm and a question and answer session from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The new strategy will cover both adults and children and is part of Cornwall’s Devolution Deal with Government.  NHS Kernow, Cornwall Council and Cornwall’s key health providers are seeking the health and social care priorities of Cornwall’s residents as well as their ideas on how potential savings could be made to help under-pressure budgets go further.

The event is one of nine taking place across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.  For anyone who can’t attend one of the community events  there’s an online survey on www.cornwall.gov.uk/shapethefuture and paper surveys are available until March 25 in libraries, Cornwall Council One Stop Shops and GP surgeries.
