Eat your heart out Gareth Malone: an amateur NHS choir in Cornwall has been warming up its vocal chords in St Austell to educate people on how to avoid nasty tummy bugs this Christmas.
The ’keep the germs at bay’ Christmas carol, sung to the tune of Jingle Bells, was written by Lisa Johnson, NHS Kernow’s infection control nurse, to remind people about the importance of good hygiene and what to do if they’re struck down with norovirus or food poisoning.
The choir of NHS Kernow singers have now showcased their talents on the internet as part of NHS Kernow’s online seasonal health advent calendar to remind people about which service to use this winter.
Lisa Johnson said: ’While we had some fun singing our carol, tummy bugs are no joke – germs are an unwanted gift we can all do without. By following our tips and remembering good hygiene, you’ll spread nothing but cheer this Christmas.’
