A Menheniot farmer has been bringing in the harvest using the same combine harvesters for nearly 50 years.
Mervyn Rowe and his son Richard have two 1965 Class Matador combine harvesters at Tregondale Farm, one bought by Mr Rowe’s father, Stuart, in 1967 for the sum of £2,000 and the other purchased for spares at the cost of £600. However, on investigation it was discovered the vehicle only needed two belts and a pulley to make it work, so they decided to make use of it.
