TORPOINT'S 'Grand Switch On' of the Christmas lights takes place this Saturday, with a full programme of entertainment, amusements and stalls beginning at around 4pm. Santa's parade will precede the actual switching on of the lights at around 6pm. With the usual crew of volunteers working hard to organise the event the lights have been upgraded from last year, making for a display that is better than ever. The town centre will be closed from 2pm, and the event is expected to finish at approximately 8.30pm.
