Golf update

Good weather brought another hectic weekend at Looe. On Saturday, the annual club match against the mafia- all proceeds go to charity. For the second time the club team gained a convincing victory, with 44 members taking part. Over £300 was raised for the Captains Charity and Jeff and Jo Mudd entertained with a Karaoke evening which was a smashing night's fun for those who remained behind.

On Sunday, the re-arranged January Medal took place. The Davis family cleaned up, with Nigel taking the event with a net 63, while his father Tony won division two with a 65. Murdo Macdonald pursued Nigel Lard in division one to finish runner-up, just a short lead in front of Brian Shiel and Ed Goodaire. In division two, steady Eddie and Ed Shapland just missed out with another 65, with Gary Sweet and Jules Hignett another shot back. In division three, newcomer Andy Toms carded an excellent 65, with Bill Langston just a short behind. Paul Giles and Alan Winterson finishing just 3M and 4M with 68's.
