Christine and Arthur Hallam, of Liskeard, celebrated their Golden Wedding on Boxing Day at a special lunch at the Eliot House Hotel, hosted by their family.

Christine is an Honoured Burgess of the town and Arthur was headmaster of Liskeard Junior School for many years.

There was a surprise attendance of a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren from far and wide, and the couple were delighted to receive a congratulatory bouquet from the Mayor and Consort Jane and Paul Pascoe, presented on behalf of the town council.
