With the Millennium approaching and as more long established businesses close their doors for the final time, the shopping facilities in the town seem to be changing completely.

Twenty years ago Liskeard was a thriving town where you could purchase virtually anything you needed but now it is the complete opposite with, it seems, the latest craze being gift shops. There are countless gift shops, charity shops, card shops, etc. Perhaps this is what the town will become known for in the future. Anything is better than derelict, boarded up, empty shops.
