Saltash Tennis Centre chairman Chris Cansfield received a cheque from Saltash mayor Joe Ellison for £420 from the community chest funds on Saturday morning at the tennis centre, Warfelton. The money has been spent on equipment for the club's mini tennis section. The mayor met the coaches, Tony Dugay and Jon Jacob, head coach Stewart Lees and young members of the mini tennis section aged five and above. Later in the morning, two members of the under 16s section played in a national competition heat match against St Agnes and won the match 3-0. The two players, Lawrence Jacobs and George Welbourne, will now go on to the next stage to represent Cornwall in the South West regional match. Chris Cansfield thanked the town council for their donation.
