POLPERRO will not have a Christmas lights display this year unless more people come forward to help. To help drum up support, the lights committee has organised an open forum to attract more volunteers. Robert Chisman, chairman of the Polperro Christmas Light Committee, said: 'For a number of years, a small number of villagers have raised funds, organised, erected and dismantled the Christmas lights in Polperro, managing to extend them each year. 'However, this group of people are gradually dwindling, as other commitments demand, and those that are left are finding it difficult to cope. 'We desperately need more help, otherwise the village will not be lit up next Christmas.' The committee will be in attendance to listen to suggestions, comments and accept offers of help. You do not have to be on the committee to help out. The forum, held next Monday February 21, will be held at the Arts Foundation, Quay Road between the Three Pilchards and the Blue Peter. The committee's annual meeting will follow the forum.
