Liskeard, Saltash and Bodmin leisure centres will be holding free Swim School Open Days this month with the aim of encouraging more people to learn to swim.

From free beginner taster sessions to synchronised swimming lessons, activities for each open day will vary depending on the location, but all will offer free swim assessments with qualified teachers. This will allow staff to ascertain what level would be appropriate for each swimmer to start at within the swim school whilst also introducing them to the types of swimming lessons they would be involved in.

The swim school programme has been created to be flexible and affordable, with a large variety of lessons available to suit all ages and abilities - and follows Swim England’s Learn to Swim Programme.

Amelia Kitchen, General Manager at St Austell Leisure Centre said: ‘Living in a coastal community, swimming is a valuable life skill that enables families and individuals alike to enjoy activities in and around the coast safely.’

Bodmin, Saltash and Liskeard leisure centres will be running their open days on Saturday, September 21.

Booking free taster sessions direct with the relevant leisure centre is advised.
