A STALWART of the Saltash community has enjoyed four separate celebrations marking her 100th birthday. The first was at Saltash U3A where Amy Farnworth still runs a Scrabble club. She was presented with a basket of flowers. This was followed by a get-together at the Second Forum which Amy founded more than 35 years ago. She had moved to Saltash and there were no vacancies at the First Forum, so not to be beaten, she began her own forum. For several years, Amy was the chairman and now she is the president. The forum organised a party for Amy when guests, including mayor and mayoress Bill and Jean Phillips, were welcomed by chairman Marie Fluhrer who also made the birthday cake. The third celebration was at the Tuesday Circle Club which is part of Saltash Wesley Church, and the final celebration – on Amy’s birthday – was at the church on Easter Sunday after the morning service.
