The first meeting of the Saltash Community Flood Forum, begun by Cllr Sue Hooper, has taken place. A sub committee was formed comprising local residents Peter Wilkinson, Rebecca Pearce, John Lidstone, Chris Holland and Colin Brown. Cllr Hooper has affiliated the Saltash Forum to the Cornwall Council Flood Forum and has arranged for Cathryn Marcus, from the Groundworks organisation, to be speaker at the next meeting at the Guildhall on Wednesday, June 29. Thanks have been given to the Railway Hotel for accommodating the forum’s first meeting, and to the town council for offering the Guildhall for further meetings. Questions are now being sought to be put before Frank Newell, Cornwall environmental officer, and Jackie Smith, sustainable drainage lead officer, at the meeting on Wednesday, September 21.
