Among those taking their marks for Looe’s 10 Miler on Saturday will be four men in full firefighting gear - and they’ll be carrying a ladder!
Looe Fire Station crew members Phil Shepley, Jack Blackmore, Richard Iveson and Ashley Baker are taking on the ‘hellish and hellish’ event to raise cash for the Fire Fighters Charity, and they’re aiming for a target of £3000.
‘We’ve experienced a few niggles but the training has been going well, and all the pain will be worth it, as we are raising money for a fantastic cause,’ said Phil.
he Looe 10 Miler, organised by the Looe Pioneers running club starts at 12 noon from the Millpool.
A ‘mini-miler’ fun run will set off just before the main race.
The event as a whole on Saturday will be raising money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
