Children will have the chance to sit in the fire engine and have their photos taken during an open day at Liskeard Fire Station today.

Some of the firefighters will be on hand to chat about the work they do and will be demonstrating how they respond to a road traffic accident.

Ladder demonstrations will also be part of the event.

People can also meet the station mascot, Blaze Bear, and enjoy a barbecue.

The station will be open to the public from 10am-2pm.
