Liskeard traders are putting on what they describe as ‘Proper Cornish Christmas’.
There will be free parking on the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas Day, from November 28 and on the Fridays of December 4, 11 and 18 the shops will be open an hour longer until 6pm.
The festive feeling well and truly be in the air from November 28, the date of the annual Lights Up event in the town, one of the biggest events of the year, with a huge procession of lanterns around the streets, watched by hundreds of people. The parade, with the theme ‘Tripping the Light Fantastic’ based on dance, starts at 5.30pm.
The Liskeard Traders Association is also organising another of its popular special fun days. On Saturday, December 12, they will be erecting a marquee on The Parade and welcoming a number of characters from the popular Disney film Frozen, who will be inviting all the children to join them in some dancing.
