May Bank holiday Sunday in Looe will be packed with events to celebrate the town’s connection with the sea. The Looe Festival of the Sea will see a programme of marine-themed activities take place, from live music and food through to boat trips for fishing and seal spotting, puppet shows, dancing and a crabbing contest for children, and even an ‘underwater litter pick’. The day will also be the start of celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Looe RNLI. A simulated rescue off the main beach will involve helicopters and lifeboats. Lifeboat crew kit ‘through the ages’ will be on display in the boathouse. For more details of the Looe Festival of the Sea programme visit www.looemarineconservation.org
