South East Cornwall’s biggest music festival swings into action from today.
Up to 20,000 fans are expected to attend the weekend-long Looe Music Festival, to dance on the beach by the main stage as well as enjoying the atmosphere in the packed narrow streets and along the quaysides, where there will be music around every corner.
However, the organisers of the festival, which is now in its sixth year, have announced that they are unable to clarify where the event will take place next year.
They are considering moving the 2017 event away from the beach and are seeking alternative sites. ‘We’d love to hear from anyone with a nice bit of flat land in or around Looe, preferably away from the flood plains,’ said director Tanya Brittain.
‘We’re looking forward to bringing more fabulous headliners to the area next year, responding to the climate and the needs of our festival goers.’
There’s more on this in this week’s edition of the Cornish Times, on sale from today.
