IN Section A Highway A and Wheal Tor remain joint top after good wins while Police Con are still looking for their first point.

Wheal Tor quickly went into top gear by winning five of the first six games away to Dobsons. They ran out 13-5 winners with Tom Bolitho and Maureen Skews, Colleen Bolitho and Dave Skews all winning five. Mike Hutchings and Steve Spearing won three for Dobsons.

Highway A continue their good form with a strong start against Police Con. Highway went into a 9-3 lead before Police Con won four of the last six to finish 11-7 winners. Rob Pearson and Sharon Summers won five for the Highway. John Waters and Mike Williams were brushed for Police Con.

Garrisons form held for the second week with a comprehensive win away to Con Club. Garrison won the first half 6-3 and the second half 8-1 to run out 14-4 winners. Pete Church and John Saunter, Stan Summers and Nigel Puckey all won five for the Garrison. Steve and Gary Pryor won three with Val and Sue Pryor failing to trouble the scorer.

Fountain Lions were ahead 9-6 against White Hart A and made the extra game to take the points. Ian and Paul Runnals did most of the work by winning all six for the Lions. Keith Allen & B Bettison and John Thomas & Taff Lewis won three for White Hart A.

Market A recorded their first win with an 11-7 win victory over White Horse. Market went 6-3 up and won the second half 5-4 to secure the points. Rob Trevarthen and Bill Stephens won five, Frankie Powell and Clive Hall won four for the Market. Donna Bettison and George Keast won three for the White Horse.

London also recorded their first win with a 10-8 win over Market B. London started well by winning five of the first six but then lost the next three. London went into the last round leading 8-7 and won two of the last three. John Armstrong and Brian Martyn won four for the London. John Vine and Liam Lawrence also won four for Market B.

Section B: Stag remain the only team to have not dropped any points as they win for the third time, this time at home to Legion C. The games were level after two rounds. Then Stag won eight of the next 12 games to secure the win 11-7. Roger Corrie and Jim Wheeler, Pam Dawson and Jim Crocker all won four for the Stag. Brian Clift and Jim Rodda won four for Legion C.

White Hart C went 5-4 up away to the Barley then increased the pressure to run out 13-5 winners. N Kitto and Francis Julian won all six. Michelle Wilton and Sharon Julian won five for the White Hart C. Lisa Haley and Marion Denning, Mick Strands and Roger Gayler all won two for the Barley.

Fountain were 8-2 up away to the Victoria at Halfway and continued in the second half winning 7-2 to complete a score of 13-5. Chris Hocking and Fred Markham won all six. R Young and Monks won four for the Fountain. R Apps and P Davis won four with I Swiggs and J Mitchell being brushed for the Vic.

St Neot started slowly against White Hart B and were 4-2 down. St Neot then won eight of the next nine games and ran out 11-7 winners. Bill Miners and Janet Hoskin won all six for the institute. Paul and Lee Gibbs won three for the White Hart B.

Highway B were always ahead by the odd game against Legion B and won a tight game 10-8. Clive Barker and Gerry Turner won five for Highway B. Rob Fricker and Les Dennis won three for Legion B.

Police 999 recorded their first point with a draw against Lord Eliot. Lord Eliot went into a 6-3 lead but the Police came back strongly to gain a share of the points. Jerry Clemes and Eloise Coombes won four for the Police 999. All pairs won three for The Eliot.

Cheesewring won at newcomers Manor Inn. Cheesewring stormed into a 10-2 lead after only four rounds before Manor started firing when they won four of the last six to finish 12-6 down. Helen Windmill and Kevin Gregory, A Witts and A Skeet all won five for the Cheesewring. Chris Mason and Tim Carthew top scored for Manor with three.
