AN Easter Family Fun Day will be taking place around the streets of Liskeard next Saturday, April 4, with some special guests coming to town who are sure to excite the children.
The Liskeard Traders' Association, who have organised the event, have invited famous characters Elsa and Olaf from Disney's Frozen to attend. They will be meeting youngsters in their walks around the town between 11.15am and 1.15pm.
The traders have also lined up free chocolate goodies including eggs and Frozen bars, and there will be face painting and glitter tattoos.
Once again there will be the popular return of the Easter Bonnet competition for all ages, with a procession around the town led by Samba Kernow at midday. Entry forms are available at the Shoe Shop in Fore Street and in the Pannier Market on The Parade.
Following on from last year's huge success the Traders' Association will be holding its second annual Charity Dog Show in Fore Street, outside Bitter Sweet, at 2pm, from where entry forms are available.
The entry fee of £1 per class is in aid of St Petroc's Society which provides accommodation, support and advice for single homeless people in Cornwall, and for Bowel Cancer South West.
The fun classes include best fancy dress girl and best fancy dress boy, most appealing eyes, waggiest tail/stump, best rescue dog, and best veteran, puppy, and owner/dog lookalike.
Traders' Association chairman Leon Fisher said that it would be the best Easter event they had organised so far. 'It's about giving something back to our customers but also doing something nice for Liskeard,' he said. 'It's a great day for kids and their families, and local shopkeepers will enjoy wishing everyone a Happy Easter.'
