Kathy Wallis, president of the NASUWT (National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers) visited Liskeard School and Community College.

The visit saw the president meet with headteacher Alex Lingard, vice-chair of governors Ian Williams, president of the Cornish executive body of the NASUWT Helen Leon and union members.  

Ms Wallis talked to Liskeard staff about her path to becoming the president.

She paid tribute to the ‘giants’ who had supported and inspired her during her journey, including her grandmother Emma Davey, a suffragette, who she said had taught her about human rights and standing up for each other.
