Children at Torpoint Nursery and Infant School have been singing their hearts out – for the love of reading. Youngsters from Year 2 performed a concert to family and friends, and say that they want to use the proceeds to buy new books. The musical pupils have now sung live several times in public. A particular favourite of this performance was a medley of space songs, created to celebrate the life of David Bowie and the achievements of British astronaut Tim Peake. ‘Jess Glynne, James Bay, Clean Bandit and Emeli Sande were all firm favourites too,’ said a school spokesperson. ‘Any money raised the children want to spend on new library books and refurbishing the library. They love their reading as much as their singing.’
