Devon and Cornwall Police is providing safety advice to help keep new students safe this month.

Now that Freshers’ events are well under way across the region, local policing teams are working with universities and colleges to give young people advice at the start of term on how they can keep themselves safe, and where to find support should they need it.  

Tips on how to avoid burglaries, theft and more are provided in the student guide created by the Force.

Many young people will be living away from home for the first time, meeting new people and enjoying social gatherings as part of their student experience.

The police consent campaign aims to educate and inform young people around healthy relationships.
