Children at Pensilva Primary School will be able to play outside whatever the weather thanks to the efforts of the Parent Staff Association (PSA).
The association has provided a new pergola for the playground and the school’s gardening club put in the finishing touches with some colourful planting.
Cornwall Councillor Stephanie McWilliam joined pupils and members of the association to cut the ribbon on the new facility.
A school spokesperson said: ‘A special mention must go to Jill and Jeremy Harris, who raised £3,000 towards the pergola, and to the gardening club for providing all the plants.’
