Farm animals and budding agricultural workers are set to benefit from a new apprenticeship thanks to a partnership between colleges in Cornwall and Devon and a farm animal veterinary service provider.

Bicton College and Duchy College have joined forces with Synergy Farm Health, which provides a complete veterinary service to all farm animals, resulting in an exclusive new Level 3 dairy apprenticeship programme.

Starting this September, the apprenticeship will be delivered from Lower Coombe near Crewkerne in Somerset and will cover a variety of topics, including welfare and biosecurity, nutrition, milking routine, mastitis, lameness, fertility, calf rearing, dry cow management and common health problems.
