Organisers of the second Cornwall Teacher Awards have been ‘really encouraged’ by public and sponsor reaction to the five new categories introduced for next year’s Awards.
The Awards’ aim is to create a celebration to recognise outstanding teachers, headteachers, teaching assistants, school support workers, further education lecturers and volunteers.
The 2017 event will see five new award categories including; pupil well-being initiative of the year and employer engagement initiative of the year.
Nikki Baron, business development director at EMPRA, the organisation behind the awards said: ’Once again we have attracted plenty of interest and submissions have been rolling in - we’re way ahead on numbers compared with last year.’
The awards will be held at Truro Cathedral in April. There are 15 award categories.
The closing date for award entries is December 31, and more information can be found at cornwallteacherawards.org.uk
