Songs, a street party and the planting of a sweet chestnut tree were all part of a double celebration at Millbrook School.

The primary school marked its 100th year in its present building with an open day for the community, past pupils and former staff.

Celebrations were also intended as a farewell to headteacher Trevor Caves, who retired after more than 20 years.
