A local family presented a cheque donation to Looe Lifeboat Station for £325.
The money was donated from Margaret Rawbone’s funeral.
Her son Glyn Rawbone said: ‘We chose to donate her money to the RNLI because we use Looe Harbour frequently. We do a lot of fishing from there and have had a lot of boats there. We’ve never had to use RNLI services but it’s nice to know that they’re there because you never know if you’re going to need to them.’
Glyn added: ‘We chose Looe specifically because of our connections there. We know a lot of the local people, and my dad moved to Polperro a year before my mum died.’
David Haines, Looe RNLI lifeboat operations manager, said: ‘We are grateful for any donations and we thank them for this generous contribution. The RNLI relies on support to train and equip our volunteer lifeboat crews.’
