Two local gardens are opening their gates in support of Children’s Hospice South West in the coming weeks.
Boconnoc House will be opening on Sunday, May 19 between 12 and 5pm. As well as the chance to walk around the beautiful gardens, the day will include a fun dog show offering a variety of classes for dogs and their owners to take part in. Admission to the woodland garden on the day will cost £5 for adults and under 10’s can visit for free.
The infamous Port Eliot Dog Festival returns to the Port Eliot Estate on Saturday, May 25. Highlights include the dog show as well as Roo’s Whippet Tea Party. For just one day, the dogs are allowed to eat off the table as the whippets are served a selection of dog friendly afternoon tea delights. There is also the chance for dogs to have a go at agility and flyball and for visitors to browse stalls selling dog related goods and refreshments.
Both events are raising vital funds for CHSW which has three children’s hospices in the region including Little Harbour in St Austell which is currently supporting 127 children with life limiting illnesses and their families.
