Liskeard Under 18's finished off their season with an outstanding 6-2 victory over Saltash Youth. When the players met at the ground before the match, they were relaxed, focused and looking forward to playing their final game of the season.

Liskeard worked as unit right from the kick-off, playing a passing game which provided Liskeard with several breaks and chances on goal, and soon Liskeard punished Saltash with a brilliant goal by Christian Yabsley. Dean Burchall scored an excellent goal from an inspirational flick by Mark Usher for the second. Liskeard only made two mistakes in the first half, but they were punished on both occasions.

The second half started with both teams hoping to take the early initiative, and yet again Liskeard were strong and determined to make up for their mistakes in the first half. Within minutes Burchall again found the net with a well-struck low drive into the corner. Burchall completed his hat-trick from a penalty which was given after a brilliant strike from Ian Nicholls was kept from finding the net because of a hand-ball. Liskeard were now on a high and following a surging run Ian Nicholls foundthe top corner for the fifth. After more skilful play by Liskeard the sixth goal was scored once again by Burchall after a brilliant cross by Steven Lee.

Liskeard finished the season in the way that they should have begun. It was a fine team effort.
