Looe v St Erme

At Looe on Saturday, won by St Erme by 26 runs.

Electing to bat first on another good Killigarth batting strip, St Erme were well-served by a good team effort. Though no-one played a major innings, six players reached double figure scores and, aided by extras, enabled the visitors to post 169. Mike Pengelly was Looe's most successful bowler with 4-32 and Jonathan Nance with 3-36 and Tim Shepley with 2-28 took the rest.

Looe were given a superb 99 run opening stand by the Nance brothers, both of whom got off the mark with straight sixes. Jonathan went on to make 44 and Peter achieved the day's highest score of 63. The rest of the Looe innings saw one of their noted batting collapses and they could only close on 143 for nine. Schorley took 4-27 from the nine overs and M Pearson took 2-31.
