Asking hosts Callington to bat on a rain affected pitch, a hustling Fowey team soon reaped rewards. Thereafter, even ordinary bowling had Callington in pusillanimous retreat. It took bold striking by Kev Gall and a courageous innings by young Steve Richardson to give their side anything resembling a cricket score. Seamers Taylor and Smith really enjoyed events.

Fowey had no hangups and few hiccups in romping home, their youngest players also playing full parts. For Callington, the need for application was hammered in once again.
