Bude v Callington
Callington dismissed Bude for only 97 on Saturday to set themselves up for an easy win.
Upon winning the toss, stand-in captain Graeme Murray elected to bowl and his decision was proved correct as opening bowlers Simon Farris and Keiron Wenmoth caused the batsmen all sorts of problems and took three early wickets to leave the home side in trouble. Murray bowled with plenty of pace and aggression while Deborah Penprase used the wind to her advantage as the pressure was kept on. The last wicket fell to Paul Sykes at 97 with Penprase finishing with figures of 4-18.
In reply, Ray Hatch and Peter Yarnall put on 42 for the first wicket and despite a few wobbles John Hambley joined Hatch to see callington home by six wickets.
Scores - Bude 97 (M. Bell 33, D. Penprase 4-18). Callington 100-4 ( R. Hatch 39 n.o., G Williams 3-27)
Callington beat Bude by 6 wickets.
