THE BBC1 series Escape to the Country, will focus on South East Cornwall next week.

The programme, which goes out on Wednesday at 2.15pm, features Peter Murnaghan and his wife Lynn. They left their home in Winchester last summer looking for a new life in Cornwall. In their quest for a new home, the couple were helped by singer and presenter Aled Jones and a BBC film crew who took them around looking at properties.

Their requirements were for a house with a holiday cottage to rent for summer visitors.

'Each of the houses they found for us were special , with a number of unique features,' says Peter, who is the regional officer for the South West with the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport. 'There was no time to rehearse our reactions – it really was spontaneous and caught on camera.'

The programme was successful in helping the couple find Woodhill Manor on the outskirts of Liskeard.

Set in four acres the property has six bedrooms and a detached three-bedroomed cottage.
