A CORNWALL councillor is to use his local authority allowance to place an advert alerting people in his ward to benefits they are entitled to claim.

Cllr Brian Hobbs told Torpoint town councillors at their monthly meeting that there are 300 people in the town who are not claiming money while they could do so.
Some people have worked all their lives, are very proud and have never looked for benefits, but are entitled to them, he said.
