DadFest is coming to Cornwall. The festival, organised by The Dangerous Dads Network, provides a weekend of camping and adventure for dads with children of all ages near Bodmin on September 23 and 24.
Ian Blackwell, who set up Dangerous Dads, said: ‘DadFest began in Devon in 2014 and was an instant success. It is only a small festival and we were so pleased to be voted ‘Best Small Event in the UK’ in 2015. This year we wanted to give dads and male carers in Cornwall a chance to experience the fun of DadFest so The Dangerous Dads Network has teamed up with Badger Forest School to bring DadFest to Cornwall for the first time this autumn at Cardinham Woods near Bodmin.’
Claire Whalley, who runs Badger Forest School and is hosting the event, says: ‘We are part of The Dangerous Dads Network and each month we run some really fun activities for fathers and male carers. To build on these events, we thought DadFest would be a great opportunity for an overnight, weekend camp. This will be a small festival just for dads, male carers and their children (daughters and sons) with a focus on fun, outdoor activities that everyone can enjoy.
‘Our very first DadFest Cornwall 2017 will offer a fantastic range of activities including an overnight camp in the woods, storytelling around the fire, bushcraft and tool use, campfire cooking and pizza making, good food, woodland games, archery, star-gazing, water rockets, music and much more.
