Centre closes as

building begins

The centre shut on February l, to comply with funding requirements. During its closure, however, members will be able to use Saltash sailing club's premises nearby. They will be permitted access daily from l0am until 4pm, and Ashtorre volunteers will man the kitchen providing teas, coffees etc. Membership cards will be required and application forms for membership are available from the Ashtorre kitchen volunteer at the sailing club.

Anyone wishing to make use of the sailing club's facilities outside of these times will need to apply to the sailing club secretary for membership.

Help wanted

for the Regatta

SALTASH Regatta will be held this year on the weekend of July 6 and 7 - this announced by Sid Harley at the annual meeting of Saltash Regatta at the Guildhall on Thursday evening.

Capt Jeremy Pengelly, the Regatta chairman, said in his report that he regretted that in spite of extensive notification of the Regatta annual meeting no members of the public were at the meeting. He said that in spite of a wet start last year's Regatta was a successful event.

He thanked Bill and Mary MacDonald for all the work they had done over the years for the Regatta, and said how sorry the committee felt they were retiring after so many years of good service.
