’My parents live high on the moor, and on a clear night they are blessed with a wonderful view of the night sky,’ he said.
’Cornwall is an astronomer’s paradise. I always enjoy trying to take photos of the stars when I visit - it’s a real challenge to get a decent photo and I was quite pleased with this effort.’
Bodmin Moor was designated with International Dark Sky status in 2017.
Light readings taken in preparation for the bid to gain this recognition showed that the quality of the night sky here is among the best in the world.
