Cornwall County Darts Association- Grenville are ladies' champions

The Cornwall County Darts Association held the concluding rounds of the Ladies Teams Championship at the Mount Charles Social club, St Austell. In the semi-finals, the Grenville Arms, Troon, defeated last year's runners-up, Lostwithiel Social Club A by 2-0. Lostwithiel were represented by Avril Hunter, Carol Harvey, Marie Brokenshire and Joyce Hosken with Fourlords A, St Blazey Gate beating Godolphin Club A, Helston by 2-0 and Godolphin Club being represented by Linda Edwards, Peggy Berry, Helen Aitken and Sue Fox.

The playing format was Two Pairs games, best of three legs of 501, plus one 4-a-side leg of 901 if necessary, with all legs flying start.

In the final Grenville Arms, Troon, represented by Sue Collins (Captain), Karen Goldsworthy, Carol Chapman and Heather Armstrong, beat Fourlords A, St Blazey Gate, represented by Bev Allen (Captain), Rose Slaney, Mariea Sullivan and Jeanette Jenkins, by two games to nil.

The CCDA President, Mr Peter Mutton of Dobwalls presented the Championship and Runners-up cups and MC for the evening was Mr Terry Hoskin of Wadebridge, the CCDA Fixture Secretary.

Preliminary Round- Grenville Arms, Troon beat Pelynt Social club by 2-0.

Quarter finals- Godolphin Club. A, Helston beat Dobsons AFC B, Liskeard by 2-1. Lostwithiel Social Club A beat Fourlords B, St Blazey Gate by 2-0. Fourlords A, St Blazey Gate beat last year's Champions the Highwayman Inn A, Dobwalls by 2-1. Grenville Arms, Troon beat Helston Football Club A by 2-0.

Semi finals- Fourlords A, St Blazey Gate beat Godolphin Club A, Helston by 2-0. Grenville Arms, Troon beat Lostwithiel Social Club A by 2-0.

Final- Grenvile Arms, Troon beat Fourlords A, St Blazey Gate by 2-0.
