Young Farmers from across Cornwall will be aiming to be crowned the fastest pasty eater at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.

One member from each of 20 clubs affiliated with the Cornwall Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs will attempt to eat a large steak Cornish pasty, kindly supplied by Warrens Bakery, as quickly as they can.

Cornwall YFC chairman, Matt Hosken, said: ’We’ll be holding heats and the quickest five pasty eaters will go into the Grand Final where they’ll be given a Cornish cream tea to eat and the fastest will be crowned champion.’

The challenge will take place within the Cornwall YFC marquee at the show at 2pm on Saturday, June 8.

The successful rural youth organisation want to encourage more young people in Cornwall to join their local young farmers’ club.
