St Dennis 4

With Bodmin losing on Saturday Liskeard had a chance to have secured second place on Sunday but they missed out on the chance losing 4-2 to visiting St Dennis.

Overall Liskeard had no argument they were beaten by the better team on the day.

The Blues made a solid start with Colin Barrett giving them a 1-0 lead inside a couple of minutes. Although Darren Vincent equalised Jodie Renals restored the Blues advantage from the spot.

But it all went bottom up for Liskeard in the second half with Vincent equalising after the home defence had failed to clear.

'Keeper Gavin Hurst was slow off his line and Gareth Williams took advantage to put the visitors ahead. Jon Rylett stretched Saints 'keeper Paul Parker with a couple of efforts but a nervy Liskeard never looked capable of retriving the game and with some 10 minutes remaining Brett Elliott put the issue beyond doubt from a well struck free kick.
