Joanne Cauchi, assistant operations director of Cornwall Care, has worked with people who are living with dementia for 23 years, but she wants to do more to help.

To raise further awareness and fund-raise for people living with dementia, Joanne has signed up to take part in one of Alzheimer’s Society’s trekking challenges, where she will be spending six days walking 70km along the Great Wall of China.

’I wanted to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society to contribute to their ongoing research and importantly, to fund the vital support that they provide to individuals and their families,’ says Joanne.

Joanne is training herself for the trek, preparing herself to take on the Great Wall.

While the trek begins on October 12, Joanne’s fund-raising target is to raise £3,200 by this August.
