St Martin with St Nicholas Church in Looe is staging a special Christmas competition for local schoolchildren with the chance to win a gift voucher for Toys R Us or Virgin. Entrants in the three age groups are being invited to put their entries on a piece of paper which they should hand in to their school receptionist with their name, address, age and telephone number on the back. In the four-six-year-olds' group, entrants are being asked to paint a picture of the baby Jesus in the manger, with the chance to win a £10 Toys R Us voucher. In the seven-to-ten-year-olds' group the prize is a £15 Toys R Us voucher for which they should compose a story or poem about Jesus, while the 11-16-year-olds' group must write a rap or play script about Jesus. The prize is a £20 Virgin voucher. Winners will be notified by telephone and invited to a special service to include the awards ceremony on Sunday, December 10, at St Martin's Church Hall.
