Children’s Hospice South West is organising an event in Saltash to bring together the current supporters of the local children’s charity, to celebrate and offer thanks for their support, and also welcome new people into the fold.

‘Stories of CHSW’ will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at the Ploughboy Inn in Saltash at 6.30pm. The evening will be a chance for CHSW’s community fund-raiser Zoe Partridge to thank the members of the community for their support, past and present.

Organisers say the evening will also be an opportunity to share with supporters stories of the difference their kindness can make to the local families the charity looks after.

The evening will be very informal, starting with a slide show of photos of CHSW’s Little Harbour hospice in St Austell where families from across Cornwall and Plymouth with life-limited children visit for short-break respite care, palliative care, end-of-life and bereavement support.

There will also be an opportunity to meet CHSW’s Saltash Friends Group, who would love to welcome some new members - whether through joining the committee or being added to a list of helpers to contact when there is an event being held locally where extra help is needed.

Zoe Partridge said: ‘Children’s Hospice South West has always been very lucky with the support given from the Saltash community and we are really looking forward to spending an evening celebrating that support and thanking everyone. However the fund-raising must go on, Little Harbour costs £3million a year to run so we are always looking out for people who would like to support us through fund-raising or other ways such as volunteering.’
