FIREFIGHTERS waiting for their colleagues in a car park were descended upon by children from a nearby nursery.

While Liskeard’s Purple Watch crew were visiting a local business, crew members with the vehicle in the Cattle Market were delighted to respond to a request from the Little Rising Stars childcare centre to ‘look around the engine and spray the water’.

‘The crew were brilliant and allowed the children inside the cab of the fire engine and showed them the equipment on board,’ said manager Suzanne Urie.

‘The highlight was that they were able to spray the water from the hose.

‘It was a very special moment for the children, especially as the siren and lights were sounded as the fire engine pulled out of the car park to say goodbye to all the children. Thank you to Purple Watch from Liskeard Fire Station.’
