SUPPORTERS and committee members past and present came together in the sunshine to mark the 70th birthday of Save the Children in Liskeard.
The local branch of the charity was formed by Alderman G C Maddever in 1948, and his daughter in law and granddaughter, Jean Maddever and Lorna Shrubsole, joined the party as they celebrated the anniversary year.
‘The event was held at Caduscott, Dobwalls, where the fine weather allowed us all to enjoy the lovely garden as well as the delicious cakes,’ said Liskeard Save the Children secretary Lindsay Pendray.
‘The committee wishes to thank all the people of Liskeard and district for their continued support.’
