Young entrepreneurs have raised over £800 selling T-shirts.
JARA! T-shirts is a social enterprise run by students at Liskeard School and Community College. They raised £825 from the T-shirts they designed on the crowdfunder.co.uk website.
JARA! have been working on this project for four months identifying issues in the world they wanted to try and tackle. One was a lack of fun things for young people to do in Liskeard and the other was the terrible state of the world’s oceans. After meeting with both National Marine Aquarium and Lyskerrys Youth project, the group decided to donate the proceeds of this project to these two charities.
JARA! worked with Real Ideas Organisation (RIO) and local artist Jamie Knight to design the T-shirts and run the social enterprise activity.
Karen Coleman Lead Youth Worker for Lyskerrys Youth said: ‘We are very grateful for the fantastic hard work put in to raise well-needed funds for the youth club. The idea was creative, the Jara! T-shirts are amazing and we look forward to receiving the funds, which we plan to use to continue the conservation on local beaches with our youth club members.‘
