Leading giftware supplier Puckator is the only Cornish company to rank in the prestigious Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100 for 2018.
The list ranks SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) with the fastest growing international sales over the last two years.
Liskeard-based Puckator, which employs an 80-strong team from its warehouse and office at East Taphouse, now boasts international sales of just over £9 million and average export growth of 38.99%.
The company, which has a turnover of £18m, employs 160 people worldwide from bases in Italy, Spain and China, also has an in-house design team based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
It now exports thousands of product lines to more than 70 countries including the US, Canada, Israel, Dubai and the whole of Western Europe.
Puckator sales director Matt Shaw said: “Our success is driven by hard work and investment in these markets. We are now designing lots of products in the UK which means we are offering alternative designs to the standard products.
“Ten years ago we hardly looked at exports. However, we have spent time translating our websites into foreign languages and addressing the export market on the ground with our sales people in France, Italy, Spain and Sweden.
“Our attendance at international trade fairs has also paid dividends and we are looking at going to Hong Kong in April whilst attracting product licences with some very well known names.
“We have been trading for 28 years but have grown rapidly in the last five years. This award reinforces our growth and ambitions, boosts our reputation, impresses customers and rewards our staff.”
Puckator was set up in 1990 by managing director Mark Howard and has grown into a leading importer, designer, trade supplier and exporter of wholesale giftware, collectables, homeware and novelties.
Last year, the company bought office space in Sheffield’s newest creative quarter at the iconic Park Hill providing a base for the company’s design team to expand as well as more room for meetings and administration and sales staff.
Matt added: “We have remained committed to our growth abroad and continue to put a high priority on bringing our innovative products to users around the world.
“This is an exciting time for Puckator as we look to satisfy an increasingly growing market share.”
